Using Internet Explorer, pages load as blank or have no style but work after refreshing/reloading

Problem: You use the Internet Explorer browser.  As you go to links on your site, the page appears as blank or do not have the stylesheet applied to them; however, after refreshing/reloading the browser (one or more times) the content will suddenly appear as normal.

Solution: One common cause for this has to do with the “Enable GZIP Output?” option in EE under Admin > Output Preferences.  While Internet Explorer does support gzip compression, it has a bug that leads to a problem if the compressed file is smaller than 4k in size; something that can often happen.

In a case like this you can try turning the “Enable GZIP Output?” option off.
