Problem: Text in the comments is behaving strangely and displaying incorrect characters.

Solution: In the past, this has often been seen by people running PHP version 4.1.2 on their server.  It seems that this particular version of PHP has bugs related to the use of “references” in PHP, which are used to make EE more efficient.

You should try upgrading your PHP installation to a newer, more stable version.
