First off, of course, you need to ensure that you actually have content in your RSS Template.  Once you have that confirmed:

1. Open your Control Panel and go to Templates

2. Expand the Template Group that contains your RSS/Atom feed Templates

3. Click the “Preferences” link for the Template Group

4. Ensure that you have “RSS Page” selected for the Template Type for your feed Templates
