Your license number should have been included in the emails you received after purchasing ExpressionEngine.  If you lost those emails, don’t worry.

Go to the ExpressionEngine download page, making sure that you’re logged in with your account.  Find the entry corresponding to your ExpressionEngine purchase and then click the link under the “Purchase History” column.  Your license number will be listed in the pop-up window.
