If you don’t have any desire to use the Trackback features, then it is easy to make it “disappear”.

1. Set the “Check “Allow Trackbacks” button in Publish page by default?” preference to “No” under Admin > Weblog Management in the Control Panel.  While there, also select “No” for the “Display Trackback Form” preference.

2. Remove the links and text for the Trackbacks from your Templates.  With the default setup, you’ll look under the “index” Template.  Simply delete the part that you don’t want.

3. If you no longer need it, you can delete the “Trackback” Template altogether.

4. You can also uninstall the Trackbacks module in the control panel in the Modules tab.  Note: this will delete any existing trackbacks on your site.
