Hey,

I wonder if someone would kindly advise me on the best way to put my EE site off-line short-term.  I’m nervous to simply back-up and delete the database.  Is there something that can be done in the admin panel to ‘switch off’ the site temporarily?

Admin -> System Preferences -> General Configuration
Select “No” for “Is system on?”.

No one will be able to view your page except for Super Admins that are logged in to the system control panel.
