Bump this. I know this has been available on a client site for some time, but just got an email that it’s no longer there. I cannot seem to figure out why. Still running 1.6.2 on this one. Plan to upgrade soon, but doubt this is related to build because I’m pretty sure this was ok not too long ago. Odd.

Thanks for the split on this. Further checking shows that it’s just one weblog that this happens with, and of course it’s the one that gets used the most.

Splitting this so we can focus on the two problems separately.

Upgrading is definitely encouraged.
Beyond that, can you outline the situation in a little more detail please.  Is it the whole member group?  One member (if yes, what group is he in)?

And have you made any changes recently?

It’s a Super Admin group, since the only ones who post to that weblog are Super Admins. I have one extension that I thought might affect it, Category Checkboxes, but disabling it does not affect things either way.

The category group for that weblog has about 250 categories. It wouldn’t be that we have too many is it? I haven’t made any changes in a few months, but will be making extensive changes in the coming month, including updating to latest.

I just find it odd that this weblog is not seeing the link but others are. Thanks for the help so far.

When you say “a” SuperAdmin group, what exactly do you mean? There is only one SuperAdmin group, and it cannot be copied or cloned. Are we talking about that group? If so then, yes, “real” SuperAdmins should be able to do anything, including editing categories.

Does it work if you login using another SuperAdmin account? To rule out trivial things like a corrupted file, an update is recommended at your earliest convenience.

Sorry, my bad. Yes, it’s *the* Super Admin group. I know it’s not working for others because one of the other Super Admins emailed me about it today (I also don’t have her password on hand).

I’m hoping to upgrade tonight when traffic is low. Are there other things that might cause this? I’m asking since I’ve seen others mention issues with this on the forums.

I haven’t seen this very often, and I am not aware of any bugs in that area in the latest build, so I’d suggest you try an update and we’ll take it from there.
