Not sure what detail to go into here.
Working through Ryan Irelan’s Engine City site tutorials.
I’m having troubles viewing the templates if I set the system to offline.
I could set the system online and there is no problems, but I suspect in the future having the site offline is going to be a requirement.
I’m suspecting having issues with cookies and or sessions, not sure how to verify the real problem?
Thanks for any suggestions.

[edit]: Oops now I’m locked out of the control panel altogether red face
Now it’s back something’s flaky in crsspy-ville.

It seems to be just Firefox giving me the run around, the system is off now, and I’m not able to log in to the CP in firefox.

Let’s start by clearing your cookies and trying to log in again.
Have you made any changes to the cookie path setting?

Yes I just added the domain, clearing it is probably a good idea.
In firefox it’s hit or miss, on the log in page it more or less just refreshes the page when I try logging in.
Sorry for the newbie troubles.
Seems like that fixed it, not too long ago I changed the session settings (so firefox would better just remember my password on this machine and auto-log me in as the super admin), and then now added the cookie domain at:
CP Home ›  Admin ›  System Preferences ›  Cookie Settings in the control panel.
My domain also has some sub-domains, likely things just got a little heywire for Firefox.
All’s well then hopefully, thanks pascal.

What do you have in the fields now?

Using a cookie domain such as: .example.com (note the leading dot) should make it work for all sub-domains.

That’s great, yes that’s what I had added, and deleted all cookies including the sub-domain ones.
The other fields are blank:
Cookie Path
Use only if you require a specific server path for cookies

Cookie Prefix
Use only if you are running multiple installation of this program

Actually there would of been multiple installations, I had a version installed in a sub-directory and many core version on sub-domains. Everything still seems great, thanks again.

Glad it’s working, if anything else comes up, don’t hesitate to start a new thread.
