I have two status groups,

Status group 1 assigned to weblog_1 has:
Open, Closed, pending (color is “#800080” (dark purple))

status group 2 assigned to weblog_2 has:
Open, Closed, pending (colour is “#FF8040” (orange)), delete, etc.

However if i put a post from weblog_1 and weblog_2 both into their pending states both their statuses appear as orange text, when weblog_2 should have a purple “pending”.

Joobs, do you have a link where we can see this?

Do they display correctly in the control panel?

Which EE version and Build are you running? You can find that information at the bottom of any EE control panel page.

it’s 1.6.4 build 20080829 - so i guess i should update

But i’m confused by your question.  I’m talking about the colour you assign to a custom entry status in the control panel, and as far as I know it only shows up in the control panel next to each weblog entry (eg open is green, closed is red). What tag makes these colors show on the front end?

Ah- I spot what you’re talking about, and confirm it’s a bug.  A colorful one at that.  I’ll post back once I’ve taken a closer look at the code.

I noticed the other day too and meant to mention it. Seems to based upon the status name because if you change Pending in one of the status groups to something like Pendings (Yes I know that’s not a word wink ) then it should work the way you want so seems to be if you have two status choices with the same name even if they are in different status groups.

Best wishes,

Mark

Thanks for the keen eyes, folks.  A fix has been committed for the next build.
