How can I display a list of most active users based on the total comments they post?

A custom query, I should think:

SELECT name, COUNT(name) AS number FROM `exp_comments` 
WHERE status = 'o' GROUP BY name ORDER BY number DESC, name ASC 

That should do nicely.
