Good Evening, Everyone!

I have developed a site for a client who uses AOL.

On the contact page of their site, I have placed a contact form with FreeForm. It works fine for all users except for those who are logged into their AOL account and using and AOL browser. The message they get is:

You are not authorized to perform this action.

Could someone please suggest a reason why it is functioning this way, and a possible solution to the issue?

You can view the site here:

Thank you!

Are you using a CAPTCHA? There are issues with AOL. Likewise, you might want to turn off “secure forum” and “require IP address”. AOL handled some things in a very weird way, I am afraid.

Everything will be good in the end. If it’s not good, it’s not the end.

Not using CAPTCHA. Where do I turn off the “secure form” and “require IP address” at?

Thank you for helping!

CP Home ›  Admin ›  System Preferences ›  Security and Session Preferences

* Process form data in Secure Mode?
* Require IP Address and User Agent when receiving comments?

The second option can probably stay turned on.

Secure forms are usually the culprit here. AOL does some rather wild proxy-stuff so that users have their IP addresses changing all the time; even during a session.
The secure forms feature checks if the client that submits the form has actually loaded the page with the form beforehand. It uses the IP-Address as a key.
So if the IP of Mr. AOL user changes after he reached the form he’s not allowed to post.
