Maybe you can do this already, in which case please move to “How To.”

I would like to delete comments through email.

I use a helpdesk software The user enters a ticket in, gets notification, but if they happen to resolve their own problem they can just click a link and the ticket is deleted. I’d like something like this for comments.

I didn’t see that it was possible with my reading of the moblog module, but am still going through that.

I have email notifications on, and can often tell the post is spam. Would be nice to just reply with “delete” or hit a link to get rid of it without ever signing in.

Thanks.

If you look at the notification templates (Admin -> Specialty Templates -> Email templates) you can include a delete link in the notification emails.  I use this on occasion myself. =)

Yay! What’s up with the wrap/unwrap part of that tag?

I finally got so sick of spam I turned on moderation. I get maybe one valid comment a month, but about 15 spams a day.

I hate captcha.

I’ve been looking into other anti-spam options, but have a list of things I want to change before I can even think about implementing them. I do update my blacklist/whitelist whenever it seems to be getting really bad, but this doesn’t seem to be helping (not that I know how many get blocked).

Thanks thanks thanks!

For the first time in my life I want a spam comment just to have the satisfaction of deleting it! Guess I’ll have to wait an hour or two.

Emails break apart long links, making the link not clickable.  I’m sure you’ve seen emails that say “if this link doesn’t work, paste it into the URL bar of your browser” or similar?  This should force the link to stay together. =)

You rule. Thanks!

Feel free to move to tech support and close.

btw, worked like a charm! I left myself a comment, then looked to see that it was there, then deleted it.

I hate when I’m frustrated with something for years, only to find out there’s already an easy solution to the issue in place.

You’re right, a move is appropriate. =)

No worries, at least you found it now!
