When I test this locally, it works great, using the htaccess just as its included in the extension.

However, when I deploy to my development server I have a couple issues.
If I leave in the “Remove IE image toolbar” lines, I immediately get a server error.  Commenting them out fixes it.

Also, my system directory isn’t available. mysite.com/systemfolder just goes to the homepage.  Again, testing the same thing locally (MAMP) works fine.

I tried a variety of changes but could not get the include method to work on the server.  As soon as I switched to the exclude method as I was doing before, my system dir is available again.

Any ideas?

Is your system folder one of the include groups or are you using a masked cp?

I was wondering… What about the possibility of generating a list of “Redirect permanent” addresses. I’ve bumped into this need in the following case scenario.

After launch of an ee-site, we realise that for one reason or another we should have named our template groups, url category marker or some categories differently. In the meantime, the pages under those template group names, url category marker or categories have already been indexed or linked by other sites. We don’t want to loose visitor traffic, so we write a list of redirects.

So, how about figuring an optional and dynamic way for .htaccess Generator to add Redirect rules in the above situation?

Thanks for the suggestion.

I don’t think this is a core need for the EE community so I won’t be including it. Incorrect indexed urls can be a problem but a simple rule should cover them pretty easily.

I am working on a site now that was a combination of 2x wordpress sites and punbb. Using a couple of rules I have been able to redirect all of the pages.

I get some strange encoding error in the htaccess file once it’s updated. It leaves the stuff that was in there to start with and then put this in place of the code it’s meant to add.

the corrupt data was just a one off. Seems fine now.

However on another site on a different host the index page loads without CSS. All other pages load fine but not the index page. Nother rules in the HTACESS file other than what this thing puts in.

I’m using using EE stylesheet tags.

Btw, I just I got this error message when hitting the back button in the control panel. I was editing custom field instructions at the time.

I just installed the plugin and its working fine except for the forum. It redirects back to the main site, so basically does the extension also work for the forum as well and if it does, what must be done

I haven’t setup the extension with the forum before so I can’t comment for sure. But if your form is located at /forum/ why don’t you just add “forum” into the extension settings before {ee:templates}

LG .htaccess generator just adds the template groups and pages to the .htaccess. You may need to tweak your settings for individual setups. What is the path to your CSS?

the CSS template group is called “styles”. Here is the remove index.php code it made.
