Im trying to create links that look like categories on my forum but act as a link to another part of my site.  Anyone know how to do this?  Would i need to edit the skin?  Im trying to accomplish something like the forwarding categories on Invision.

You’d want to edit the forum theme, but I’m not dead sure where yet.  Walk me through it using this forum as an example.  If I’m on the forum home page- you’d like to add something that looks like that ‘Announcements and Intros’ bar- but says something different and is a link to off the forum?  Something like that?

Well, not quite.  It would be the 3 categories within that section that linked to another internal page on my site.

Imagine the official announcements, pre-sales questions, and site introductions not being real categories, but just being internal links to some other page on the domain.  That’s what im trying to accomplish.

Ah- ok, think I got it.  What I’d do?  Get the html squared away- do it just like one of the tables.  Once that’s all pretty and working- edit the ‘Index Page Templates- Forum Main Wrapper’.  I THINK if you just put your extra table at the top, it will flow right into the dynamically generated ones.  Haven’t tried it, but that’s where I’d try it first.  Logic seems right.

Make sense?

Hi, ASFx - it would help to see a link to where you’re trying this, and the exact code (including template names) for what you tried. =)
