Odd publish entry field behaviour

I’ve created a website for a book publisher, which means loads of books have been entered into their own weblog, with 32 custom fields.  I’ve been copying and pasting all the fields from their Excel book list, when suddenly a field I was pasting into did something strange…

Have a look at “Related Books 3”.  As I pasted the text, the new text appeared, then resized the text entry field as you can see in the grab.  The text cursor was then flashing from it’s new position as if it had always been there.  When I saved, the information for that field wasn’t stored.

Almost as if it did a DOM change to modify the html of the page without reloading or refreshing.

First and only time it’s happened and couldn’t repeat.

Thanks for reporting DevStudio.  If this has only happened once, and can’t be reproduced, I’m willing to attribute this to browser quirks (we know we’ve all seen those before), but if you end up able to recreate, or get any additional information, please let us know.  If you do write back, let us know which browser, version, and operating system, and EE version (no need to report back unless this ends up biting you again).

Will do - it’s not exactly a show stopper!

Forgot to say in the post, but knowing Microsoft, it could be some hidden html code stored in the clipboard when I copied the string, it then manipulated the field…?
