Ive done this upgrade before on another site, but when I did it on my own, I couldnt get any output.

Basically the site works, where no single entries are shown. In other words, on “category pages” where all of the entries in each category are shown, these pages work fine. However on my single entry pages, there is no output, the css and html are all screwed up and the place where the body should be is just blank.

When I open up the page source code, everything looks ok, but in firefox everything is all over the place and in internet explorer there is only the background color.

I currently have the site offline and will try reloding 1.6.3, but any ideas what this could be?

After looking at my site, it looks like the top part of my site is not loading on single entry pages. When I view the source This is what I see directly above where the page starts to be rendered:

So, it looks like half of my page is getting commented out or something. What is the rdf stuff?

Please help

Ok so the issue was with the “Trackback Auto-discovery code”

I went and turned off the “Add Trackback Auto-discovery code to your pages?” and all of my pages went back to normal.

Is that a coding error on my part or did this update have something wierd going on with that trackback autodiscovery code?

I just tried to replicate and can’t.  Double check the build number in the footer- can you paste it here?  And can you run down all of the settings in ‘Trackbacks’ for the given weblog.  Could be I’m not replicating because my settings differ.  I’ve got- trackbacks on, add auto-discover, use url titles- no, randomize- no, and a field selected to chose from.

And on your end, let’s do a quick reduction test.  On a blank template put

{exp:weblog:entries limit="15"}

<h3><a href="{permalink=">{title}</a></h3>

{body}

<div class="date">Posted on {entry_date format="%M %d, %Y - %h:%i %A"}</div>

{/exp:weblog:entries}

Point the permalink to use the same template.  Now- multi-entry was showing for you ok- is it here?  And if you click a permalink, does it also show ok?

Here are the settings that screw it up:

Allow trackbacks in this weblog? yes
Add Trackback Auto-discovery code to your pages? yes
Use URL Titles in entry identifier URLs? no
Maximum number of allowed trackback pings per hour: 5
Randomize Trackback URL: no
Which field should be used for Trackbacks excerpt? body

and here is the code i use to display the permalink:
<a id=“limage” href=”{permalink=}”>Permalink</a>

Hm- I still can’t replicate even with matching settings, so I’m thinking it’s not likely a bug.  Two possibilities come to mind- a file got corrupted in transit.  You could try deleting and replacing both system/core and system/modules/trackback.

However, the way it breaks doesn’t scream corrupt code to me- sounds like it works fine on cat pages.  Still- it’s easy to try, so go ahead and do that.  Second option- perhaps something in the template itself- though odd that it worked before and broke now.  Still- might paste your single entry template and we can do some reduction/replication testing.

Thanks for the additional information, Davor.

adambeazley, does putting in rdf=“off” help as suggested by Ingmar in the threads linked in Davor’s response?
