I’m working with a host whose process for migrating clients is the establish their new account and provide an “preview” path via the establishment of an “A record”. So, to access the service that path is http://preview.companyname.com.
A nifty little DNS trick but I’m not sure it’s all that great. I can’t seem to get the “install” process to “select the database”.
(understanding that this would have to be updated prior to going live)
I initially used the “preview path” provided for
URL to the directory where the above index page is located
URL to your “cms” directory
But I get this error
Unable to select the database
I’ve also attempted to install just using the proper domain, that doesn’t work either.
I have double, triple and quadruple checked my db credentials and all is correct.
Will EE’s installation method support this type of setup?
Any advice would be helpful?
Thank you.
