Hello,

We have redesign the http://www.whistlerdream.com website.  You can see the comparison between the old site http://www.whistlerdream.com/index.bak.html.

Every content on their old site was previously static that needed to be databased into expression engine.  Most of the work was in data entry but Expression Engine enabled us to put up the structure of the site quick quickly.

I used my own version of a Form emailer and modified it to database the mailing list, plan now and miniform results and have the client visit a URL to download an CSV of the database records at their convenience.

Used Slideshow pro for image headers and Slideshow pro Director for managing all the images and photogallery image of each accommodation.

Accommodation was the trickies of all to put up.  Sevaral fields and complex layout made it difficult to communicate what layout the client wants.

Integrated a Live Help application for on-the-site live communication with users.

We’re in the process of SEO and ATM its sounds quite a big job managing inbound URLs and replacing lots of content.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks for your time,
  wiL (http://laxa.ca)

Looks VERY good.  Great job on this one.  Did you use a weblog with custom fields for the “Plan Your Own Vacations” stuff?

Thanks Josh,

All the other categories use the same field structure.

Accommodations has the most varied field structure to contain all the misc. information from # of bedrooms to google map link.

Forgive me for my amateur questions.. but, you defined these fields within the EE control panel, yes?  Do they get entered into a database when a user submits or does it search existing records within this database?

Great job wiL. it’s a very nice site, and I think the way you did the individual accommodation pages with ssp was really nice. Did you feed each ssp from EE Photo Gallery module?

Josh B:
Yes I created an Accommodations custom field group and added accommodation specific fields.  It functions just like any other EE Weblog just with extra fields.

Thanks! smile  A lot of blood sweat and tears went in to creating this.  Their previous site was static and was a nightmare to update 50+ pages when there was a template change.  No didn’t work on the EE Photo Gallery module, i just stuck with Slide Show Pro Director instead.  It pretty much did the job I need in the shortest amount of time.
