Example: I have two images in category “lithographs”, and have “Previous | Next” links to navigate through the category.

Problem: Previous and Next links always show up, even if you are on oldest/newest image.

Is this a bug, or I am doing something wrong?

Is this problem ever solved?

I get a 404 error when clicking next when there is no next image

It was an error on the docs- next/prev in the gallery cycles.  However, you shouldn’t be getting a 404 when you click one- so that’s a bit different!

What build/version are you using, and is it possible to link to an example page?

When you click next image it can happen you get a 404 error, however that doesn’t happen always!?

Ah- see what you mean.  OK- I’m going to split this off to a new thread as I don’t think the two issues are related.  What build/version are you running?  Should be in the cp footer.  Also- if you go to ‘Admin- System Prefs- Throttling Configuration’ and turn throttling off- let’s see if that makes a difference.

Also- that 404 is odd.  Are you using an EE 404?  The message is:

Status: 404 Not Found

Should be a 400.  Of course- page loads fine w/the exact url when you refresh the page- so shouldn’t be…  Ha- in your throttling prefs, what do you have as your ‘Custom Message’?  Bet that’s it.

Good deal- it’s because it uses the same template over and over- so if you just tweak the throttle settings, problem should be solved.  (I’d leave it on- but change the number of loads/time interval).
