Hi,

I just upgraded to 1.6.4 and everything during the upgrade process ran smoothly.  I then re-installed the Forums software, as stated in the upgrade instructions.

When I try and access the site I just get a blank screen.  I also tried the control panel, and it is just a blank screen too.  I did a “View Source” in my browser, and there isn’t any HTML at all.

Any idea what might’ve gone wrong?  I double checked permissions, and everything looked fine.

As it was important for me to get the site back online, I had to revert to the backup (which launched fine.)

Any thoughts would be appreciated before I attempt this again.

It sounds like it’s throwing a php error- but errors are being suppressed.  Check this kblog entry for details on how to force errors to show.  Note- if they’re suppressed at the server level, it may not work.

If we can see an error, should be a quick fix.  It may be a file was corrupted in transfer, a third party module/plugin in play, a memory error, etc.  Without seeing the error- it’s hard to pinpoint.

Note- if you have access to the error logs- you may be able to track the error down that way- in which case, we can troubleshoot based on that.
