I’m trying to disallow emails from mailinator and other services like it using *@domain.com, but the users with emails from those domains can still login and post, etc. What am I doing wrong here? Doesn’t member management control member’s ability to use the forums too?

I’m still really confused about the whole member integration with forums… seems every time I think I understand it, I don’t.

At core- the member integration boils down to- the same exact member info is used across all elements of EE.  So- one sign up, one login, one set of data per member.

But- I’m not dead sure what’s up on this one- did you add the email w/wildcard to the ‘banned emails’ in ‘Admin- Members and Groups’?  And you want to prevent people from:
a. signing up using said email;
b. something else I suspect….

I see, so that only stops new users from registering an email with that domain, but already registered users aren’t affected. Odd, alright. Thanks Robin.

I am still a little unclear about what you actually did. Did you add those domains to the blacklist? Or what else?

I added *@domain.com to the Banned Email Address in User Banning

Your other option is to remove those members with that email address or put them in a member group with no access to posting.
