Hey folks, just redesigned the first EE site I ever made.  What a process. But after many sleepless nights, a few redirects with Lighttpd (ahhhhhh), and getting through my first scripts with Jquery, it’s finally ready for the world to see.  I have a few more things I’d like to add, but I couldn’t wait to launch the site anymore.  Let me know what your thoughts are or if you find any bugs.  Thanks!

Thanks!  About the expand info.  I really like the way CNN.com has all the pertinent article information above the actual article so if you’re not interested in the article you can find something else worth reading without wasting a whole lot of effort.  I wanted to add the same functionality to this site, but I didn’t want to take up all the room.  You can even skip to a random article if you use the expand info in the actual article.  It’s not quite the same, you have to poke around a bit, but I think it’s a nice touch.  Most of the highlights aren’t filled in seems how I redesign old content and the author has yet to fill in the highlights.  Looking at the code I think I should swap the lists around and use negative margins for positioning so the search engines can gobble up the highlights first instead of the meta information.

I certainly like the clean look of this site and subtle jquery interactions….great article on Dignidad. Nice content delivery!

Hello, nice looking site, I like the subtle color you use as the Divs background, and yes the expander is really cool, just wondering how you did it? I’m actually starting a new EE site and I will like to have that feature to add some extra information for some products.

Thanks!  I used Jquery’s slide toggle effect.  Here’s a couple links to get you going.  I also definitely recommend the book “Jquery in action” if you really want to dig into Jquery. If you have a little bit of Javascript know-how you should be able to pick it up fairly easily.
