I just upgraded from 1.6.1 to 1.6.3 build:  20080421
and am having control panel issues. The “look” is the same as before—a green version—and even choosing default and classic doesn’t change it. The only difference is there is a new icon to the left of “blog”

I don’t recall any big changes in the cp in the 1.6.1->1.6.3 update- none that I noticed, in fact.

In the footer- does it show you running 1.6.3?  And if you want to be sure you’re running on the latest themes, be sure you replaced the current themes/cp_themes folder with a fresh version.  But be careful- there is no green version stock, just classic and default.  So you’d want to copy over your custom cp as well.

For tweaking a custom themes- be sure to read the version notes on each upgrade in the docs- see if you need to make any manual tweaks to it.

Make sense?

Also- I’m a little fuzzy- are you saying the themes don’t change when you flip them out in ‘My Account’?

That’s right. When I flip over to Classic or Default, I’m still left with green. I replaced the cp_themes folders, but that didnt’ work ...

This is for the control panel- and you’re changing it in ‘My Account’ on the backend- in ‘Customize Control Panel- Control panel themes’.  Does it ‘stick’ when you change the theme?  In other words- if you go back to that page, the dropdown for the theme is something other than green?

It does stick on “default” but it’s still green.

Any chance of a screen shot? There was an older green theme, but when you say green, I’m not sure what you mean.

I remember seeing something similar with the 1.4.x version of EE, but this is a variant of the classic theme.

Have you tried renaming the cp_themes folder, and then re-uploading the new cp_themes folder?
