Google Analytics is not overkill for any website. I use GA for sites with 500 visitors a month and sites with hundreds of thousands of visitors. We automatically setup GA accounts on all sites we develop for clients so they can track hits.
One thing I especially like is goal tracking. In addition to e-commerce tracking, you can setup general goals like contact form submissions, information requests, etc. My clients love seeing how many requests they’re getting and can look at how that conversion rate increases when they do marketing campaigns.
It’s free and easy to setup, so why not use it?
I haven’t tried Mint, but it looks nice. I’m just happy with Analytics.
