Hi

I’ve got plenty of short and long text items such as:

1. The “privacy policy”. This text has to be accessible from many places.
2. A “weblog summary”. This would appear only once for example on the weblog index page.

...and all kinds of similar text items.

What’s the best proven way to publish and manage text items like these?

Thank you in advance for your help.

1+2.  Well, you could make a weblog specifically for things like this and then just do a {exp:weblog:entries entry_id=’‘} wherever you want to call one of these pieces of text.  Or…

1.  You could create a template with the privacy policy in it and then just embed that template in other templates wherever you need it.

2.  If it is only appearing on one page, just putting it in the template could work if you do not want to try the other ideas.

The way I handle “static” information (such as my biography, statistics and colophon pages) is a seperate weblog where each “static” item is an entry.  I like method as it makes it searchable and easy to find/edit.  I use the allow ee codes plugin in the index for that weblog/template group so that I can make my statics and colophon pages that way. =)

Plus, the less templates the better. wink
