At the moment I am testing the core version of Expression Engine. Before I buy a license, I want to know if the following is possible:

I want to make a member group that is able to log in to the “system”, but can only publish AND edit posts. It’s very important to have a solution to make users who can’t make templates or things like that, but are able to publish and edit.

Is it possible?

Just a quick answer to say that yes this is definitely possible. This page here will show you most nearly all the possibilities that you have with member groups within ExpressionEngine. The part that will interest you is listed under Control Panel Area Access.
