How can I move a weblog from one site to another?

My thought is that if I make a copy of the template group on the new site and set up an identical weblog with identical cateories, fields, and status groups, I could then move my 150 or so entries using the database tables.

How do I do this? I have never imported or worked with tables directly.

Thanks--

You should not have to recreate any weblog/category data, since all that is stored in a database. Visit this KB Article to learn more about moving EE from server to server.

Except that I do not want to move the whole site, just one weblog. I am beginning to think you can’t get here from there and I may as well just do it manually.

There is no built-in way to move weblogs between installations. If I had to do it, I’d probably export my entries in the MT file format, and re-import on the target system.

I’m looking around but I can’t find the MT export utility or is there one.  Could you go on a bit further how to export in the MT format or at least point me in the right direction?

There’s an article in the wiki on the subject that should get you started.
