flv player plugin “JUST WON’T WORK…ARGGHHH HELP!”

Hi guys,

this flv player plugin is driving me nuts, im sure the solution must be simple! I have used the following code to embed an flv video…

{exp:flvplugin playerpath="http://graciebarrabirmingham.com/flash/FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf" playernumber="1" file="http://graciebarrabirmingham.com/flash/KidsPromoFinal.flv" width="325" height="215" showdigits="true"}

...specifying the correct path for the location of the swf and the video! I have in the header of the page put the following javascript code:

and the results im getting are are this…

(I am trying to activate the “promo video”!)

If anyone could point me in the right direction and highlight the school boy errors i’m making for what seems to be a very simple task, i’d be most grateful,

Is this just a flash swf file you want to embed in your page?

Renaldo,

I have had good success using SWFObject and embedding the swf file as follows:

<div id="flashcontent">
    
       var so = new SWFObject("http://www.gbf-nc.org/flash/gbf_flash_banner.swf", "slideshow", "785", "240", "8", "#c8ac73");
       so.write("flashcontent");
    
</div>

You basically need to include the javascript file with your page and embed the file as I have above and you are good to go.

thanx for your help forrest.

I am trying to embed flash video (flv), embedding swf seems to work fine, it’s just been a nightmare trying to get the same success with embedding flv. I’m not too familiar with programming langs (even javascript), so if you can break down any code solutions that you give me into ‘laymans (basic) terms’ I would be most grateful.
