I notice that most of the size of the database is made up of multiple old blog entry versions—there are
multiple copies of old (past) blog entries that are no longer being edited, and are not likely to be edited in future.
It would be useful (particularly for people whose database has become very large) to be able to clean out
all but the final copies of old entries…

Have you looked into Data Pruning? If that does not what you want, you should, perhaps, consider making an appropriate feature request. Do you want me to move it there? It’s not exactly a Tech Support issue, I think.

No, data pruning just deletes posts that are more than x days old.  What is required is a utility that
deletes all but the latest copy of “old” posts—they were edited many times, so there are many versions,
and we want to keep only the latest and final versions of each post (not delete all old posts).

Maybe many users with huge databases would also like this. You can move this to feature requests.

Yes, it’s a bit hidden, but I am not sure it actually does what you want, ie remove older revisions but leave the latest article / template intact. It can certainly be used to delete older aticles totally, though. So, I think your suggestion would make for a good FR.

I agree that it would be a good idea to move it to FR.
