The recent version of WordPress has an export to XML feature.  I’m curious whether anyone is considering adding an EE import feature which uses this?

I’ve tried all of the various import options currently mentioned in the wiki, but all seem to have drawbacks, i.e.: no P tags, adding an extra “Original” link at end of entry, not creating categories, etc.

Using the XML file from WordPress to directly import into EE seems like an ultimate solution.

This would be fantastic.  We’ve spent three days trying to import into EE and I’m about to throw in the towel.

what are you looking for Amy? I have been able to move from WP to EE with the MoveableType export scripts.

I have a MT formatted exported file from Wordpress and can not, for the life of me, get it to import.  I can’t even get the sample file that MT provides to import

do you want to send me a sample of 1 or 2 entries to see how it looks. or I could send one to you? I had to test it a few times and edited the MT script to not export comments etc first. I also added to the script to grab tags and put them in a custom field as EE and WP store tags differently (if you get the Tags module or a custom field)
