TinyMCE does NOT appear!

I installed TinyMCE v3.0.7 with LG TinyMCE v1.2.1 and I cannot get the WYSIWYG editor to appear at all. Using EE 1.6.3

I see LG TinyMCE in the Extensions Manager and have it enabled and I have double checked the path. Also have set the Body field to WYSIWYG.

I do not see TinyMCE in the Extension Manager. Should I?

Also I get a javascript error “tinyMCE is not defined”.

How/where can I check the install of tinyMCE. I already cleared the cache (via EE Utilities and IE). Permissions on the scripts folder where tinyMCE is installed is 755. I do not have any other extensions or plugins installed.

thoms,

Although we do not officially support TinyMCE, we recommend using our own extension.

As to your “tinyMCE is not defined” error: Did you actually upload TinyMCE? (And not just the extension?) Are the path and permissions correct?

Yes, I had installed it.

So I just uninstalled the LG extension and deleted TinyMCE, re-installed Tiny MCE and your extension. It is now working!

Questions:

1) Do you recommend the formatting option be set as none, XHTML, or <br />?

2) Can I add more ‘features’ to your extension so I can have HTML tables, add links, upload files and edit the html directly?

It would be cool if someone updated the Wiki to add your extension as an option.

Thanks.

That’s good smile

When using a WYSIWYG editor the output should always be set to “None”, because the WYSIWYG editor is already adding the markup as you go.

2) Can I add more ‘features’ to your extension so I can have HTML tables, add links, upload files and edit the html directly?

Perhaps this thread might be useful in that regard.
