I’m trying to update my recount preference to a number greater than 1000.  When I hit save, it says the preference is updated, but it doesn’t update.

I can confirm. In fact, trying to set it to anything but 1000 does not work. Might be a bug, I’ll report it.

I just found that for the time being you can manually add

(or whatever) to your config.php. After you have done so, you can even change that preference normally using the control panel.
