I’d like to ask whether it is possible with EE to set it up so that the seach works even if no search terms were passed.

In this topic: http://expressionengine.com/forums/viewthread/49114/, there’s a link to the page http://spxcooling.com/en/ implemented with EE and they seem to have managed exactly that functionality. I’ve searched the CP, but did not find any settings for this.

I’m running:

Not ‘out of the box’- though there is a feature request.  You might check this thread for a hack.  And I swear, there was talk of a js workaround, but I can’t find it and can’t swear it worked.

But stock- it’s not an available option.  If you need to brainstorm some options though- they exist, and I can shift this over to ‘How to’ for hashing out.
