“products” in the simple commerce module are really just entries in a weblog. All of the product details should be in the weblog entry (using custom fields, or whatever). Simple Commerce just handles the price & PayPal integration.

so like if I have 1 small shirt red shirt in stock
and I set custom fields for the sizes and colors and just make one weblog entry for that type of shirt. how do I specify on hand quantities for each type of shirt with in one weblog entry?  how can I let them know that with out them buying it first and then finding out it is not in stock?

because it’s a one to many relation there is one type of shirt with many different sizes and colour’s per weblog entry so I am finding it hard to under stand how the system works any one please explain or point out the trick

thanks alot again for the reply

Have you read the documentation for the Simple Commerce module? It isn’t really designed for inventory control, and options and whatnot; it’s better suited to selling downloads, or access to restricted content. That’s why there has been so much excitement and anticipation for the full e-commerce module. It sounds like you may be trying to do more than Simple Commerce can handle.
