Did a little write-up on our favorite content management system and PHP framework:

OnWired Development Workflow

Enjoy!

Yep very good read. Nice to see what other people use in their work force. Pretty much the same as myself really.

Best wishes,

Mark

Definitely a useful and well-written article, thanks!

I’m still getting used to feeling like I am in the minority around here as a PC user.  Thankfully, much of the platform specific tools you wrote about have similar equivalents for the PC.

I heart EE too. I bookmarked the article and will read it in the AM when I am being paid to read such things. smile

I skimmed it though, and seems to be exactly what I’ve been asking myself lately (and I don’t know the answers, so glad someone has them).

Well… having also been a Windows user for many years, I think it’s accurate to say there are web development tools for that platform—FTP clients, text editors, etc.—but I’m not sure I could say there are equivalents.  I don’t know anything for Windows like Coda or Acorn or LineForm or WebSnapper or Locomotive or Twitterific or MarsEdit or Delicious Library or Quicksilver or Fusion or FontExplorer or Yojimbo or Preview or FluidApp or Little Snitch or NetNewsWire or Unison or Scrivener or ...

Sorry, got carried away!

Ah you made my day - copying link to post to troll to my poor old windows friends.

As a side note, Screen Grab addon for firefox is always a quick and easy (free) alternative to the Websnapper option.

I do love posts like this, makes you think that if other people are doing it your way it can’t be bad! Really looking forward to the Codeigniter/EE2 tie up, exciting times.

A nice looking collection of utilities, for certain… not compelling enough for me to uproot my existing work flow but definitely a list I will keep for when I add a Mac to my collection.

I must say, though, Scrivener looks amazing.  When I do add a Mac to my collection, that will likely be one of the first utilities from this list that I go for.

That it may be, but a) it doesn’t generate PDFs, and b) it won’t preserve links in the document, either.  I’m interested more in giving those to clients, for whom (a) and (b) are must-have features.  Plus, it’s less than the cost of a single lunch these days and I like to support indie developers.
