Hi there,

Will it be possible to have a handful of questions for those not attending SXSW? Perhaps in a format where a few are read out and answered (I’m sure it will be recorded or blogged so we can get the answers).

If it’s a yes then my questions would be -

- With the expansion of ExpressionEngine (specifically) are you considering expanding your support network to other countries or to have round the clock support?

- When are you producing some more decent video docs?

- Lion Tamer or PHP Developer?

We’ve packed so much into the preview presentations, that there won’t be time for questions. That’s why we added the open panel discussion later in the day.

Hm. . . maybe there’s someone going to the open panel session that would like to bring up your questions and post back here.

I’m still the new guy on the block but here’s what I know. (other’s may have more info for you but here goes).

There’s has been talk of expanding our support hours in the past. Its one of many things we would like to add in the future. Don’t try and pin us down to “when” though because we just don’t know at this point. There’s a ton of stuff we would like to do for the community, and this is one of them, as we grow more things like this will happen.

I can tell you that a handful of us have found a bit of time to play with ScreenFlow, so its something on our minds, but again, you won’t get us pined down to a date when you’ll see things.

I think Paul should address the last one. wink

Here’s my question.

When?

It fits nicely after any statement or thought made by Ellis Labs staff, except the one where Kurt says “Don’t try and pin us down to when” and then it transforms nicely into why?

Seriously though you could perhaps write up/blog for us the open panel discussion after the event - that would be interesting as well for those not present.

Tell you what: no promises, as the Open Panel Discussion is packed to the gills with atendees, so I doubt there will be a shortage of live questions.  But anyone who has a question that they would ask if they were attending, just post it here.  Please check other people’s posts first so that you do not duplicate.  I’ll compile them and if there does happen to be “dead time” during the discussion, we can pick a few to answer.

This type of thing has been under consideration for at least a year. It comes down to timing and a lot (a lot) of logistics. Right now the demand doesn’t justify the investment quite yet but it is something we’d all like to see happen. If you have specific ideas for this type of thing, feel free to email .

- When are you producing some more decent video docs?

After 2.0 gets released. As Jones and Kurt mentioned already we have no idea at the moment what form these updates will take but I think that hiring Lisa full time last year and Kurt this year shows we are committed to helping people learn EE more efficiently. But until 2.0 is out there is little advantage in expanding what we have too much.

- Lion Tamer or PHP Developer?
