Hi, I have multiple levels/member groups for a site I’m doing…

Basically, all entries are entered through a SAEF on the front end by one person, but are to be assigned to others with the author_id variable. (then plan to use author_id=“CURRENT_USER” parameter) smile

I would like to have that person be able to select Author ID’s from a dropdown menu, etc.

The problem is that it seems ONLY an administrator can post entries for another author… regular members can’t.

Is there any permissions I can adjust for this, or a work-around?

Thanks smile

Not sure if this is relevant, but check out this section, Include Members in PUBLISH page multi-author list, in the docs.

Thanks Erin…

Unfortunately that setting (or any of the others) does not seem to work.

Pie Man, you probably got this one already, but you’d need to ensure the other user groups have permissions to add entries to that weblog and edit others’ entries.

Ah, you know what? I’m having the same problem now. I have my member group set to be in the Multi-Author List…

Oh wait. I just realized that I have to have the target author’s member group in the multi-auth list. Ah ha!

Thanks Wondermonkey :D

I apologize for being so late on this one…

I actually never did get it solved. All of those settings are applied, but the problem still exists.

Pie Man - what build are you on? There was a bug in one of the builds with that setting not working, so make sure you’re totally up to date.

Thanks Lisa, smile

This was originally on one of the early versions of EE 1.6.x
I can’t remember if I last tried it on 1.6.1 or 1.6.2…

Revisiting the issue, I’ve finally upgraded the site to 1.6.3 (from 1.6.2) today and the problem no longer exists…

Another “Cold Case” closed LOL
