I was looking forward to a hunk o’ beef at Dan McKlusky’s on 6th during SXSW, but I just noticed on Austin City Guide that it closed last June. I haven’t had a chance to get back to Dan’s in several years, so it looks like I missed my last chance. I’ll miss it. I’ve got many fond memories of good dinners there with good friends.

Two questions:

1. Anyone know what happened to Dan McKlusky’s? Sold out and moved on? Business downturn?

2. Any Austin residents have a suggestion for a good steak place? I’ve heard many good things Ruth’s Chris.
