Thanks for the info on Lisbon. Since I’ll be hanging out with university students and faculty, I expect they’ll take me to places they think I should see or experience.

By the way, on another subject: it’s not that hot in Austin in March! Average temp in March is 60 degrees, with a normal high of 72 and a normal low of 52.

The weather is crazy and unpredictable everywhere, so I can’t guarantee it won’t be freezing or blazing, but the middle of March is usually very pleasant here.

Obligatory plug for SXSW Baby! (http://www.sxswbaby.com/), an unofficial weblog and forum — ExpressionEngine-powered, mind you — about South by Southwest. Lots of good advice, pointers and stories from SXSW vets and newbies alike. wink

I suppose I should plug a little site I work on too-

http://bmi.com/sxsw/

There’s a nice rundown of the BMI events during entire festival.  Additionally, we’ll be posting day-by-day coverage on dozens of events.  And yes, it is an Expression Engine site.  wink

Here’s a link to a streaming station to sample the audio delights of SXSW 2008:

I’d love to see some EE folks drop by a showcase I’m putting together wink As I mentioned before, I am in the process of moving our community from Joomla to EE.  I’m actually hoping to go live with EE late this week if I can knock out a few more conversion issues.

This will be the 3rd year I’ve put together a showcase. If you enjoy roots / rock / alt.country, this is the show for you.

The Americana Showcase during SXSW
Waterloo Ice House (6th & Lamar)
Friday, March 14th * 6PM - 1AM

AmericanaRoots.com

11PM Mando Saenz (new album Bucket is #8 on the AMA radio chart)
