Hello,

I’m working on a site here:

In the Robotics section at http://robotics.pmhclients.com/index.php/robotics/ we have 6 weblogs to power out articles. They are grouped by weblog rather than by category structurally.

The question is, how do you make a archive by year or months of several weblogs at once on the same page? I just don’t understand how you would make each entry in the archive link to their respective weblog when you click on it? I understand how to do it if there is only one weblog, but several has me stumped.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Kevin, are you using a weblog entries tag? What is your current code?

Let me re-phrase, what kind of output do you want for the archive listing?

Actually something very similar to how Veerle does it at http://veerle.duoh.com/blog/archives/

We would like to have a archive of all the articles from all the article weblogs for each month, so they correspond to the current or monthly issue of the magazine they have.

thanks!

Here’s the code for the article page we are using:

{exp:weblog:entries weblog="{personal_weblog}" require_entry="yes" limit="1" track_views="one" disable="member_data|trackbacks" paginate_type="field" paginate="bottom" }
<p>{categories}<a href="{path=personal_robotics/}"><b>{weblog}</b></a> | {category_name} | {short}: {view_count_one} Views{/categories}<br/></p>
{if no_results}
<p class="broken-url">We're sorry but the URL you've entered might be broken or not online anymore.</p>
{/if}

<div class="entry">

{if image1 != ""}
  {related_entries id
="image1"}
<img class="article-photo2" src="{medium_url}" />

{/related_entries}
{
/if}

<h2 class="title">{title}</h2>
{if image3 != ""}
  {related_entries id
="image3"}

<img class="article-photo2" src="{medium_url}" />

{/related_entries}
{
/if}
{multi_field
="body|extended|page3|page4"}

{embed
="includes/.article_728_90"}
{paginate}

  {if image2
!= ""}
  {related_entries id
="image2"}

<img class="article-photo2" src="{medium_url}" />

{/related_entries}
{
/if}

  {if image4
!= ""}
  {related_entries id
="image4"}

<img class="article-photo2" src="{medium_url}" />

{/related_entries}
{
/if}

</div>

<
p>Page {current_page} of {total_pages} pages for this article {pagination_links}</p>
{/paginate}

{
/exp:weblog:entries}

For a list of all articles by month, you could simply use the weblog entries tag, piping in multiple weblogs to the weblog=, and using a date_heading for the header…. that would more than likely be how Veerle has set up the title list.

Thanks Lisa!

I actually did some reading on the forums and the docs and found out how to do the linking to the different weblogs, through the variable {comment_url_title_auto_path}

I had to set the path though for the comment url in weblog settings.

thanks!
