Paid Subscriptions

I’m currently using pmachinePro and I will probably upgrade to EE.

I want to offer paid subscriptions and am looking for a robust solution that will work with most of the major payment processors (Paypal, Authorize.net, etc.) and will be flexible enough to utilize the features of the pmachine products.

Will (or does) pmachine offer a pay subscription solution? Are there third party pay subscription solutions for pmachine? What are other subscription-based pmachine publishers using?

Thanks in advance.

I’ve heard there’s an e-commerce module coming out (could be a while) that allows for subscriptions, though I don’t know any details.  I’ve also seen some posts on folks integrating other e-commerce scripts, but it’s been a while and I don’t have any links.  Might try a search on e-commerce and/or subscriptions.  I know it’s been discussed.

Rob,

I’ve searched on those terms (and others relating to payments) in the pmachine forums and the posts I’m seeing are pretty thin and pretty old.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of time to spare. It seems like this would be a high priority for pmachine.

We don’t want to give our content away, we want to charge for it!  I’m not seeing very many apps out on the Web that are suitable. And I don’t want to have to develop our own app—-that’s big bucks!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Really isn’t something I’ve played with, but check this link.  Looks like Robert Crow has something working with paypal- and he may have tweaked it out as that post is fairly old.  There was also mention of another post where someone was trying to integrate with a different e-commerce script, but I can’t find it.

I think the short answer is, there’s not a great module yet- even if the paypal tweak is flawless, well… not everone likes paypal.  As far as the EE module, I’d heard the board, community and gallery modules were supposed to be first up, then the e-commerce as it’s more complicated.  No idea if that work flow still stands.  In short, I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes a while.  When it gets here, I’m sure it will be great- but until then, you may have to hack around with some short term efforts.

Like I say, really not something I’ve played with.  Might drop an email to Robert Crow, he seemed to be up on it.
