We are using three custom statuses to manage our entries. However, we can’t filter by those statuses in the Edit tab of the Control Panel. How can we do that?

You can, but you need to choose the weblog first, that will update the status menu with the available statuses as assigned to that weblog.

I’d love to know if there is a way (supported or not) to get a different set of statuses to show up in the filter area when looking at “all” weblogs. The site I’m building is going to have probably more than 30, each using the same set of statuses, and as the final editor in the workflow process, it’s going to be a pain to have to look through each weblog for approved/revised entries in the manner described above. So, does anyone know a way to do this?

Having custom statuses show in the control panel when selection “ALL” weblogs would be really useful in my case too, having 15+ weblogs at the moment.
