Les:  Hey Rick, I have a fun idea that involves giving away a couple free licenses.

Rick:  Sure, Les, do anything you want…

Les:  Um… Rick… do you happen to have a few interesting photos of yourself?...

Rick:  You mean like these?  :: sends photos ::

Les:  Perfect!  Thanks Rick!

Rick:  Les?.... why do I have a bad feeling about this?...

Les:  About what, Rick?

Rick:  Never mind… I probably don’t want to know…

A couple of those pics are already damned amusing without any modification. I’m having a hard time thinking of what I could do to improve upon them..

The MSM looks very cool indeed. I’ll be waiting to find out what the price is with bated breath.

The one picture looks like Rick is trying to figure out how to get out of the inside of the brown Zune he is now stuck in… Or maybe better yet, how he ended up in there in the first place!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

My first guess for the extra tab was “Pages”. After chatting about it with a mate we have come to the conclusion that the new tab label might be “Type”. Hoprfull this new page will incorporate pages, video and tumblelog posts!

Fingers crossed

Happy Birthday Rick.

1.6 Looks great. I’m wondering about the sites module having a new tab that is separate like that, my tab bar is already pretty full. What would go nicely would be a pull down menu in the top right area where we see “ExpressionEngine v 1.6”. That way it would have the room to say then name of the site you’re on.

Congrats Rick on your birthday!

Woke up to this exciting news and with the new managing sites module and the new custom fields for categories I can see that what has been my primary concern, multilingual sites, is soon history. From now on I believe that EE also can market itself as a perfect tool for managing multilingual sites! The native features of EE will do. No more hardcoding or messing with PHP. Thanks!

Thank you very much for the 1.6 preview! Since i’m not asking if I can get an early beta, I assume my following question is valid lol:

Can we share categories across sites? I know in the preview it belongs to the respective sites; but I’ll take my chances.

Woohoo!! Sounds like more fun stuff for me to explore and learn!

PS. Will there be a clear upgrade path from 1.52 to 1.6?

Also can someone explain what the benefit of Category Custom Fields would be?

And very lastly, will you be producing any more screencast videos? The current ones got me hooked so perhaps some nice shiny ones that show more of the features (See Apple Leopard Preview videos for what I mean).
