I know it’s possible to set the thumbnail dimensions in the photo gallery, but is it possible to restrict the upload of images beyond a certain dimension.
I’m creating a gallery to stor images which will appear in on a ‘sidebar’. Since the side bar is narrow, I’d like to only allow image of a certain size in that gallery. Make sense? I suppose I could use the image thumbnail, but I’d rather not lose image quality at that size. Any ideas?

Not sure, I do know the image upload process (within the weblog) can allow for max image dimensions. If you have the fear of using thumbnails could i ask why you want to use the image gallery in the first place?

Thanks. I’d like to use the image gallery because I’m creating a relationship with a weblog which i’m going to use to control certain elements in the ‘sidebar’ of pages. These elements only need one image, so I’d rather have the user upload their image to the gallery and then select the image from the drop down list, rather than using the cumbersome upload process. Thanks for you thoughts. It’s a tricky business!

Hi, Adam. the_butcher is correct in that you can restrict image sizes in weblogs, but there is no such restriction for gallery entries.

This would make a great feature request if you’d like to add one or find an existing one to add your support to.
