Do you print your business card yourself, or do you have a company that you can recommend?
I know about moocards, but I’m looking for a company that prints regular size business cards, and not moocard sizes. Also the company would allow me to upload my custom business card designs for printing. Any suggestions?
I like using my printer. That way I can update my cards every couple of months to a new look and feel. Some customers collect them. Maybe one day they’ll be worth the same as some of Picasso’s works. Well, maybe not Pablo Picasso, but perhaps worth as much as Fred Picasso’s velvet paintings of Elvis (he sells them from a van down by the river).
I’ve used overnightprints.com with good results. The provide templates for most publishing programs to design your own cards. If you’re in a rush, you should probably call around locally and get a few quotes.
On a tip I read on Cameron Moll’s site a long time ago, I’ve used 48hourprint.com. In fact, I just moved into an office and had to reprint the cards with a new address. Just got the new cards last week!
I’ve been using http://www.clubflyers.com for both flyers and business cards. They just introduced a nice deal on 1000 cards ($30.00 + shipping) for full color glossy two-sided cards, and since our site is art-related, those work the best for us.
ditto on overnightprints.com. quality cardstock, great price and quick turnaround. I have used them a number of times. don’t know how they stack up with the others mentioned, but I have had good luck with them.
For all you UK people I used printing.com for my last lot. (Not a web based company - despite the name!!) They are a big franchise operation in UK and europe). Spec : 10 day delivery time / gloss on one side (Fabu-gloss) and trimmed corners / die cut. Sadly cost was £191 for 1000. But they should look gorgeous !!! If you would like me to send you one in the post I will gladly send one...just e-mail me (this is open for the first ten people to ask....must save on postage )
Their short run press (<250 units) left a little to be desired, but for larger runs they are pretty good. Of course, the last time I ordered anything from them was about 2 years ago, so all that may have changed.
Printingcenterusa has a pretty good deal on business card too, but their min. quantity is 1000, may not be suitable for those who only need 250 at a time.
Alirght, am I the only one who hates, HATES, the glossy business cards? They quickly get smudgy in my wallet, and they just feel wrong, all slick and flashy. I prefer the good ole simple matte, substantial. Of course I also enjoy the aesthetics of fossils like the newspaper and hardbound book…
Anyway, I have nothing to add in the way of printer recommendations. I mean, has any one had a BAD experience with ordering business cards? It all seems comparable to me.
I like moo.com, but a client showed me some very cheap cards from Vista print and they weren’t that bad. For full Litho Aubergine (UK Based) come highly recommended.

I really recommend OvernightPrint as well. There templates help out a lot and the quality is great. The only bad thing about them is that they only offer the basic products and don’t offer a full product line like other places. I need to order some door hangers and presentation folders for a client and I had to go somewhere else.
