I want to create an “about” page and have it appear first when my site is visited; a sort-of splash page. It will have multiple links to various parts of the site, including a link to a “weblog” page (my current index master site default page). When I create the template for “about”, how do I get it identified as the new index master site default page? How can I rename my current index page to be “weblog”? Then should I rename my new “about” page to be “index”? What admin changes do I need to make to support these template changes? Thanks for your patience with these confusing sentences!

My suggestion:

- create a new Template called “weblog” in your Template Group

- copy the current “index” Template content into the new “weblog” Template

- replace the “index” content with whatever about page content you want

That should leave you with the “about page” as the main/default page and then you can link to the “weblog” Template.
