I am looking to do timed refresh on an embeded template that displays a single entry in orderby=“random”.

I have found javascript that will refresh the entire page every x seconds but I only want to refresh the content (news items) contained in an embeded template every x seconds.

There is an example of what I am trying to do on example on netscape.com home page—it rotates 3 feature news stories every 7 seconds and has the ability to click to the next (or previous) story.

You would need to use an iframe/flash/maybe javascript for that, I believe.  Otherwise you’ll need to force the entire page to reload.
