OK, so whenever I post a picture to my blog, and set align=“left” the text gets all up in it.  Despite my best attempts with tutorials like this one:

http://www.basictips.com/tips/article_86.shtml

and similar posts in this forum, I can’t seem to make the CSS create a margin between the picture and the text (see http://www.midnighthowl.com for examples - there are at least three of them on the front page!)

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,

Matthew

Here’s several things I noticed:

- on the first image, you’re using a “floatleft” class and also applying the align=“left”.  If you going to use CSS then you shouldn’t use the “align=”

- the first image, which has the “floatleft” class applied appears with a margin around it to me (using Mozilla Firebird)

- the second and third images do not have the “floatleft” class applied to them and thus don’t have that style

So, it looks like you just need to make sure you apply the “floatleft” class wherever you want that effect to appear.

I am so impressed with the tech support here.  You all are amazing - that was really fast!

fantastic, thanks - that worked like a charm.  However, it doesn’t display properly in the preview for some reason - part of what was throwing me (it doesn’t wrap the text in the preview - not sure why, but on the live site it looks fine…)

Thanks again

midnightowl, the control panel in general uses a different CSS file than your entries.

I haven’t tried it, but you could try putting in your .floatleft class in there.

/system/cp_css/default.css - the default .css file used.
