Are you using the 30-day Hosted trial, or did you download the trial and install it on your server?  If the former, then you can’t use the Translation Utility since EE won’t be able to write the files out (nor would you be able to retrieve them).

If you’ve installed yourself, then have you ensured that you set the permissions correctly (666 or 777) on the system/translations/ directory?  Do you get any sort of errors or messages when you try to use the Translation Utility?

I installed the trial on my server and set the permission correctly…i find the files created in translations folder but it doesn’t affect the web pages.
Also how to control the layout of home page-for example- i feel it’s difficult.
thx

After you complete your translation, you will then need to put the translated files together in a new directory (representing the new language pack) under system/language/.

So, if you created a “slang” translation, then you would copy the created files over to system/languages/slang/.  The “slang” language would then be an option under ‘Admin > Localization Settings’ and ‘My Account > Localization Settings’.

The phrases are located in the associated Plugin file: system/plugins/pi-randomizer.php
