I made a partly transparent watermark today but the “watermark opacity” is ruining it for me. here’s an example:

http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/9067/watermarktestsf2.th.jpg

the rounded edges on the left are originally transparent in my png image. while the letters and the black background are not. lowering the opacity will also affect these parts of the image. setting the transparency coordinates to a white pixel will remove my white letters as well so that’s not an option either.

so what I basically want to know is: how do I get my original png as a watermark without EE tampering with it?

Alpha transparency in PNG-24 images is currently not supported.  You will need to switch to a format that uses binary transparency such as PNG-8 or GIF.
